There’s nothing better than that fresh brow feeling, especially when they’ve been tinted, but what if you could make it last even longer? Following the correct aftercare will help to prolong those salon-fresh brows for weeks after your appointment. Here are our top five need-to-know tips.

Leave it to the pros

If you want seriously long-lasting results, it’s always best to visit a professional. At-home dyes just aren’t the same, plus you don’t get the benefit of professional application or a colour match.

Top tip: an appointment with your local HD Brows stylist includes a custom-blended tint colour, mixed specifically to your requirements.

Keep them dry

This will most likely be the first piece of aftercare advice given to you by your eyebrow stylist, so be sure to follow it. Avoid washing or touching your brows for at least 12 hours so that the tint has time to settle. Chlorine can also shorten the wear of your tint, so be wary if you’re a regular swimmer.

Use a specialist serum

Do you find your tint fades quickly no matter what you do? Get yourself a serum to help prolong the wear of your eyebrow tint. Our Tint Lock Serum uses an invisible, flexible film that coats each brow hair to help hold in colour. If that wasn’t enough, it also contains amino acid action to rebuild and strengthen hair to condition and care for your beloved brows.

Be cautious with skincare

Anti-ageing ingredients such as glycolic acid and vitamin A can fade colour faster, even if you’re not putting the product directly on your brows. Avoid your forehead when applying these types of products if you want to keep your tint fresh. You may also find that your oil cleanser is stripping the colour, so try switching to a gel or cream product. We also recommend applying an SPF of at least 30 to your brows daily to protect them from the sun (your skin will thank you too).

Don’t over-groom them

We get it, brushing your freshly shaped brows with a spoolie brush is very satisfying but beware. Too much brushing can actually lift your tint and contribute to hairs falling out quicker than they should. That’s why it’s best to brush them into place and then apply a brow gel to set them all day long. Opting for a tinted brow gel also helps to add a slick of colour when you’re due your next tint appointment.

Give these top tips a try ahead of your next eyebrow appointment and see how much longer your tint lasts.
